The following map shows the current paved and on-street trails system in Spencer, Iowa. This map also shows the proposed 2017-2018 new trail routes along the old railroad corridor between 1 st Avenue W. and 3 rd Avenue W. from North School Park to West 18 th Street. Another proposed new trail segment is planned to run north from the intersection of West 18 th Street and 4 th Avenue West along the Clay County Fair property at which point it will join back up with the abandoned railroad corridor and continue north to the northern city limits. The last proposed trail segment in Spencer is planned to run west from the intersection of West 18 th Street and 4 th Avenue West along Clay County Fair property and continuing west until the intersection of West 18 th Street and 18 th Avenue W. where the trail will convert back into an on-street trail.

On the following page is a map showing the eventual and planned connection of the Spencer Trail system to the Iowa Great Lakes trail system following the Highway 71 corridor north into Dickinson County and the Iowa Great Lakes region.
