SACRED HEART CATHOLIC SCHOOL Sacred Heart Catholic School provides a private parochial education to students in Pre-K through 6 th grade in Spencer. The school is located at 1111 4 th Avenue W, adjacent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Current enrollment statistics show 179 students in 8 classes. The school employs 10 teachers. Sacred Heart School professes to educate students to be responsible Christians with the skills and virtues necessary to learn for a lifetime while serving God, country and humanity. IOWA GREAT LAKES LUTHERAN SCHOOL The Iowa Great Lakes Lutheran School (IGLLS) is a Christ-centered school trusting in God’s blessings and educating children since 1999. The school moved into a new building in 2015 and currently educates 85 students in grades K-6. The new school is located at 1311 East 18 th Street adjacent to First English Lutheran Church. The school’s mission statement is to develop the whole child – spirit, mind, and body – in a quality Christ-centered learning environment.

IOWA LAKES COMMUNITY COLLEGE

One of the five campuses of Iowa Lakes Community College (ILCC) is located in Spencer at the Gateway North Center, 1900 N. Grand Avenue, Suite B-1. According to the college’s website, the Spencer campus houses the Allied Health Programs as well as general education

coursework. Students can choose from Surgical Technology, Medical Assistance, Certified Nursing Assistant, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy Technician and many other fields of study at the Spencer campus. The ILCC has recently renovated laboratory spaces in the Spencer campus to accommodate student classroom learning. Additionally, students can also choose to take classes toward an Associate of Arts or Sciences degree through a partnership with Buena Vista University. The Spencer campus offers dormitory living near the ILCC building and the college’s Soccer program is based out of the Spencer campus location.
