OCCUPATIONAL EMPLOYMENT PROJECTIONS Iowa Workforce Development compiles current levels of employment for workforce regions across the state and projects the level of anticipated employment in 10 years for each of the classifications. The employment projection for 2022 is only available on a regional basis. The data for Region 3-4 includes the counties of Lyon, Emmet, Osceola, O’Brien, Dickinson, Clay, Buena Vista, Palo Alto, Sioux and Kossuth. Since Spencer is the largest city in Region 3-4 and is geographically in proximity to the center of the region, its residents branch out across the region for employment opportunities. The numbers represented below should be representative of projected employment trends expected to occur in Spencer, especially relative to the percentage change and trends in those industry sectors experiencing greater or smaller growth over the next 5 to 10 years.
