Struck out four during two scoreless innings of work against Washington (2-13-04), a 5-1 USO win ... Fanned a season-high four bat– ters on two different occasions... Named the WCC/Rawlings Pitcher of the Week (3-15-04), leading USD to three victories over nationally recognized school's Cal State Fullerton (3-9-04), No. 19 Nebraska (3-12-04) and No. 9 Long Beach State (3-14-04)... Threw a combined 6.2 scoreless innings in relief helping USO win all three of those games, culminated by recording his first collegiate save in three innings vs. Long Beach State (3-14-04) in front of 20,737 fans at San Diego's new downtown stadium Petco Park.. . Freshman in 2004 Made 14 starts (nine as the DH , five in right field) ... Hit a towering two– run homer against Santa Clara (4-10-04) that allowed USO to sweep a doubleheader and the th ree-game series with the Broncos... Enjoyed a pair of games in which he totaled three-hits, the fi rst coming in his second col legiate start vs. UC Riverside (3-31-04) and later against St. Mary's (5- 21-04)... Went 3-for-3 during that game with St. Mary's, scoring, driving in a run and stealing a base... Hit safely in three straight games in May, helping USD win 15 of its last 17 contests... Totaled 49 at-bats on the year in 23 appearances. Prep Hit 8 homers and posted a .440 batting average while playing for Califor– nia High School as a prep senior. .. Twice named an All-East Bay Athletic League player as a prep... Honored as an All-State selection following his senior campaign... Led California High to the league championship as a junior batting .500 and hilting six homeruns...
