College Two-year award winner and scholar athlete at UC Irvine in 2003 and 2004 .. Enjoyed a very productive freshman season, batting .297 in 32 starts.. . Used sparingly as a sophomore in 2004... Expected to pitch at USO, something he was not given the opportunity to do at UGI. . Prep Drafted in the 38th round of the 2002 MLB First Year Player Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks after starring at Dana Hills High School as a prep player.. . Batted .345 with a pair of homers during his senior campaign at Dana Hills... Led the Dolphins to a South Coast League title as a senior.. Participated in the Seattle Mariners' Senior Scout Tournament following his prep ca reer... Also won the 2001 South Bay wood bat homeru n derby.. Also has playing experience as a standout pitcher and position player with the Mankato Moondogs of the Northwoods League. Personal Born August 25, 1984 in Mission Viejo, California as a 10th generation na– tive of San Juan Capistrano... Heavily recru ited out of high school by Long Beach State, Pepperdine, Oregon State, UGI , Ball State and St. Mary's.. Chose to transfer USO because of the academic programs after receiving a number of classroom honors at UC!, incl uding making the Dean's List and being a Presidential Scholar... Has chosen to major in Sociology at USO... Son of Kent and Linda Falk.

Junior in 2004 Honored as a Second Team All-West Coast Conference player after an outstanding junior season... Hit .330 with 20 extra-base hits and 43 RBI. . Utilized as the everyday first baseman, starting in 52 of USD's 56 games, primarily batting in the 6th spot. .. Caught fire in mid March by posting fou r straight multi-hit games, in which he doubled five times and drove in nine runs.. . During that span Curtis ripped Houston (3-12-04) pitching for a pair of doubles and three RBI in front of 25,175 fans at San Diego's new downtown stadium Petco Park... Curtis hit four homeruns, incl uding belting grand slam against Portland (4-23-04)... Enjoyed 20 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games... Hit safely in nine straight contests (April 17-May 2)... Enjoyed a season-high four-hit afternoon going 4-for-4 with a HR and two RBI against Portland (4-25-04)... Drove in four runs twice, fi rst vs. Portland (4-23-04) and later against St. Mary's (5-20-04)... Made just two errors all season (.996 fielding %)... Within WCC play, Curtis ranked in the league's top-10 in RB I (26), slugging % (.564) and triples (2)... Spanning all games Curtis drove in 43 runs, scored 37 times and posted a .413 on-base %. 2003 Took a medical hardship yea r after suffering a season ending injury against Texas Tech (2-8-03)... Started in four of five games, all in left field... Posted a batting average of .385 in 13 at-bats... Banged out two doubles, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run against Cal Poly SLO (1-26-03). Prep/College Came to USO from L.A. Pierce College in Los Angeles... Named second team All-Western State Conference player as a sophomore... Prepped at Calabasas High School ... Named Calabasas team MVP for three consecu– tive seasons.. . Played for Rick Nathanson as a prep. Personal Sociology major... Born October 24, 1982 in Los Angeles, California ...
