-Has played and excelled at all four infield positions for USO -Hit .380 (16-for-42) during a mid-year stretch in 2003 in which he started in 11 straight games Junior in 2004 Played in 17 games and made two starts... Started at fi rst base against Nebraska (3-12-04) at San Diego's new downtown stadium Petco Park.. Also started as the DH at Cal State Northridge (1-31-04)... Was used primarily as a pinch-hitter and defensive replacement... Registered 17 at-bats and drove in three runs. Sophomore in 2003 Went on an offensive tear during an 11-game mid-year stretch... Went 16-for-42 (.380 BA) over that span, all starts... Rattled off a string of five consecutive multi-hit games... Went 3-for-5 at USC (3-18-03)... During a three-game series with Portland, Hesselgesser went 8-for-1 5 with three RBI and 3 doubles... Went on to bang out th ree hits against nationally ranked Cal State Fullerton (3-25-03)... Worked his way into the everyday lineup... Played second base, third base and DH ... Held an average as high as .472 after that three-hit performance against Cal State Fullerton (3-25-03)... In the third and final game of a three game home series with Pepperdine (4- 6-03), Hesselgesser went down with an injury legging out a ground ball and would make just nine more plate appearances on the year.. . Overall finished the year with a .338 batting average in 68 at-bats. Freshman in 2002 Excellent defensive player... Played in nine games during San Diego's Championship season of 2002... Named a Second Team All– Palomar League player as a senior, going 6-3 and posting a 2.30 ERA.. Three-yea r letterman at RBV. .. Won all five of his decisions (5-0) as a prep sophomore... Then won eight games (8-4) his junior season... Coached by Steve Hargrave at RBV. .. Also reached the state championship game playing with the Orange County Dawgs club team. Batted .343 and drove in 20 runs, leading the Lancers to a state quarterfinals appearance in 2004... Also named a Glendora All-Tournament player as a senior... During his junior campaign in 2003, posted a .319 average... Part of a Bishop Amat program that went 28-2 in 2002, winning a CIF Championship... Also competed as a member of an OC Renegades club team that went 38-8 in the Connie Mack League. Personal Born January 17, 1986 in Anaheim, California to parents Tim and Linda Lawhorn ...
