d. 1 Tim. 6.12 (ESV) – Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. e. 2 Tim. 1.13 (ESV) – Follow the pattern of the sound words that you have heard from me, in the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

3. A gifting, leading, and resourcing corresponding to the responsibility of the call

a. 2 Cor. 3.4-6 (ESV) – Such is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. b. Matt 10.19-20 (ESV) – When they deliver you over, do not be anxious how you are to speak or what you are to say, for what you are to say will be given to you in that hour. For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you. c. Luke 24.49 (ESV) – And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high. d. 1 Cor. 3.10 (ESV) – According to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a foundation, and someone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it. e. 1 Cor. 15.10 (ESV) – But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.

f. Phil. 4.13 (ESV) – I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
