AOAC New Products and Services Update 

Three new products and services are launching: 

1. Certification of Application Notes a. Scott Coates will bring a full proposal before the OMB during its March Meeting. A working group is requested to assist with the technical requirements. 2. On‐Site Validation Programs a. Where there is instrumentation in limited availability, revising studies such that independent analysts travel to the location for assessing the methodology.  Currently, this validation is being used in the PTM program (approved by the RI Board in late 2018). This is now moving to OMA.  Is there a way to consider assessing reproducibility for less that five (5) available instruments? 3. CASP and Food Authenticity Program a. AOAC’s new cannabis program will launch at the AOAC Mid‐Year Meeting.  This will be an ongoing multiyear program.  Advisory Panels are going on now and more information will be forthcoming.  A prospectus for both programs are enclosed. 4. Bridge Education Program for Method Developers a. The Bridge Program involves having a review of the SMPR with a Q&A, followed by an orientation on how to develop the ideal method submission package.  This will be online sessions that will engage working group chairs as well as prospective method developers.  The session will be recorded and the recording will be available through the AOAC website. The first session is being scheduled for early February. 5. Analytical Methods Week a. Scheduling ERPs outside of Mid‐Year Meeting and the Annual Meeting can be challenging.  However, planning these meetings at different times throughout the year also continues to be more challenging.  We are planning to set aside a week for virtual
