MEMORANDUM

Date:

January 31, 2019

To:

AOAC INTERNATIONAL Official Methods Board

From:

Deborah McKenzie, Staff Liaison – AOAC Official Methods Board

Subject:

2019 Outlook for the Official Methods Board

2019 is already starting out as a banner year as AOAC expands in new and different ways.  The Official  Methods Board is on the forefront of making these efforts successful.  With the stakeholder panel  redesign and the Analytical Solutions Forum, restoration of education and training, new products and  services, formal engagement with external organizations, all while continuing to recruit and maintain an  expert volunteer base to support the technical work, recognition of volunteer technical contributions,  and revise documentation.  There tremendous opportunity for OMB members, OMB working groups,  and the Committees to grow the organization.     Additionally, the turnover on the OMB in the fall includes the leadership of the OMB with the chair, vice  chair, and past chair positions all changing.  With so much going on, it can be challenging to see where  OMB fits in and/or how it will all get done.  Over the next two weeks, 2019 goals for the OMB will be  drafted and shared with the OMB core team and then with refinement, for the next OMB  teleconference.
