Proposal for Vetting of Members for ISO TC 34 SC Liaisons 

In October, AOAC signed a new five‐year agreement with ISO in Washington, DC that expands the  previously signed agreement from the scope of milk and milk products to all of ISO Technical  Committee (TC) 34 (Food Products).  As such, AOAC agrees to work with ISO and its subcommittees  and working groups on a case by case basis.    The first assignment from the meeting is to establish liaisons to each of the subcommittees and  working groups.  Deborah McKenzie is serving at the liaison to TC 34; however, a process is needed  to ensure that subject matter experts are working with the subcommittee and bringing information  back.  

Methods:  1. Post information on joint work at the AOAC Website for Review  2. Collect Feedback on the OMA Methods 

Candidates:  1. Issue a Call for Subject Matter Experts   2. Submit candidate submitted information to OMB for Vetting  3. OMB reviews documentation submitted by experts and approves 3 – 5 experts forming a  panel of AOAC Volunteer Experts serving as AOAC liaisons to the SC.   4. OMB may also approve a chair  5. AOAC staff to forward approved candidates to AOAC Executive Director for Appointment
