The last day of shifting rate of the Silver Yuan cover to Hong Kong, bearing SYS Hwa Nan print 4c, tied by bilingual ‘CANTON’ cds, the rate was increased from 4c to 5c at the same day (1 Aug. 1949) but the post office still accepted it and not treated as a postage due cover. An air mail Silver Yuan cover air mail to Hong Kong, on reverse bearing Unit stamps Domestic Ordinary x 3, each tied by unclear bilingual ‘SWATOW’ cds, an early use of Hong Kong Asiatic print, with ‘Hong Kong/1.9.49’ arrival cds. A local overprint Silver Yuan cover to Chungtu, on reverse bearing local overprint ‘LEZHI’ (樂至) on surcharged 10c on $1,000 on revenue stamp in pair, and surcharged 5c on $20,000 on SYS Hwa Nan print, each tied by faint bilingual ‘LEZHI’ cds, Lezhi was liberated on 7.Dec. 1949.
