HOT TOPICS Important Data Deadlines Approaching

Friday, September 6th is the deadline for superintendents to complete the required reviews of their 2019 calendars, staff, courses, Ohio Graduation Tests (OGT), OELPAs, alternate, and other assessment data for accountability reported in Ohio’s Education Management Information System (EMIS). As you complete and submit the 2019 Data Review for the Report Card Part 2 form, you must indicate whether the data are accurate. EMIS Data Review and Verification forms are part of EMIS reporting described in Ohio Revised Code 3301.0714 . The law requires superintendents to review and certify the quality of data, as noted in Ohio Administrative Code 3301-14-01 (G) . Failing to complete the process may trigger progressive sanctions outlined in OAC 3301-17 . The superintendent, EMIS coordinator, and superintendent designee can access and complete the data review forms. However, the forms are not officially submitted to the Department until the superintendent completes the process by approving them. September 6 is also the date that the following data review windows close: • 2019 March Career-Technical Education Follow-up data • 2019 Student and Assessment Data September 13 is the deadline to submit your district’s selection of either the ACT or SAT for spring 2020 administration. The SAT vendor will contact participating districts starting in early October. The ACT vendor will contact participating districts starting in early November. Districts that will administer the tests online must become vendor-approved testing sites according to steps outlined on each vendor’s website for Ohio.
