A Historical Perspective of Hundred Years for the Future The international sport movement has always needed both independent workers sport or- ganisations and workers physical culture pol- icy which takes the form of joint activities in the international sports politics. Nothing can be stated categorically regarding the superior- ity of one or the other model for the condi- tions; different countries dictate to a large degree the terms according to which workers physical culture policy can be practised. The main challenges of the international worker sport movement from a historical per- spective of hundred years can be summarised as follows: Promoting World Peace by bringing people(s) together. Resisting violence in sport itself and among fans and spectators. Co-operating with all democratic organ- isations. Promoting the democratisation and democratic alternatives of national and international sport organisations (in particular the Olympic movement). - Democracy: - - Peace: -
