Describe your role within Ulster Rugby? Provide support in the way of GPS data to our S&C coaches, physios and coaching team to help inform athlete management procedures. Also provide relevant GPS data feedback to players on on-field performance metrics. In addition to GPS, general data analysis and video performance analysis provision supplied to the coaching team on relevant player / team performance. Describe your career / employment history? Internship at Statsports in 2011 for 1 year. Presented with opportunity to join Ulster Rugby in 2012, became GPS analyst for 3 years and then change of role to GPS & Data Analysis in 2016. Favourite thing about your job? Being part of the jigsaw in trying to aid athlete r;u=oul-m1; om l-|1_Ŋ7-‹ĺ -|1_Ŋ7-‹ bv -Ѵ‰-‹v |_; best day! What do you enjoy most about working for Ulster Rugby? $_; r;orѴ; ‰ouh ‰b|_ om - 7-bѴ‹ 0-vbvĺ ou; |_-m just colleagues, they are now my friends.

What is your biggest achievement to date? Being part of the management team to go to the PRO14 final and also the unbeaten run in that season. Winning six from six in our European group the year after was also pretty special. What is the most challenging aspect of your role? Time management. There are a lot of different moving aspects within a day and week. Separating the signal from the noise within large data sets to provide quality information to make quality decisions for our coaches. What are your plans/goals for the upcoming season? Learn a new stats programming software and continue to progress in professional development
