Spirit and Leadership - The cheerlead– ers were a lway there to lead the crowd.

USD Cheerleaders WORK IT!

What a year for USO Spirit! As our a thletic teams soared to the top, the cheerleaders were with them every step of the way giving all they had to get the crowd pumped up. And when morale was low and motivation took a dive, the cheerleaders remained as enthusiastic as ever, showing the winning attitude, dedica– tion, showmanship and pride of true athletes. After cheering for the Fall Semester, the squad of six d y– namic girls: Paulette Diaz, Gigi Gillespie, Becky Mangual, Stacey Monnastes, Karin Oga ta, and Teresa

Whiting; added five outstanding Freshman : Elizabe th Hamm, Kassandra Mania ti s, Ange la Marinez, Julie Tallenco and Kellie Wright. Together the eleven girls and their coach, former Iowa State Hawkeye Cheer Cap tain Kris Verdeck, busted their butts throughout many rigorous prac– tices to prepare for upcoming events. Their hours of hard work obviously paid off as their dance and cheer expertise was shown with precision and pizazz during every performance. In coordination with the antics of Bill McGowan the Torero, the USO cheerleaders supported our teams with Mega Spirit!!

Unparalleled school spirit - The craz d crowd roars in support for the migh ty Toreros. Leading the crowd - The Torero knows who's number one!
