CRED Practical Document Writing and Management

Hyperlinking

In practice: - ● Only hyperlink the same occurrence once per page. If the same citation appears on a page more than once, blue the first instance only and leave the rest as black text. ● If many references are made throughout the application to a document that is on the critical path, the likely impact is an increased amount of publishing and QC work to be completed after that critical path deliverable is provided for publishing. ● Think like an assessor = “less, is more” is the agencies take on links. ● Every link created is subject to a 100% accuracy QC review by RO and you / the author. The more hyperlinks, the longer the publishing QC!

The official colour for hyperlink is shown here. However, your in- house MS Word template may incorporate a ‘blue toggle’ button, so you can easily change your text to blue. Blue rectangles placed around text is still used, and usually seen in historical / scanned documentation.
