Cross referencing within a document

• What are these and why have them? • A cross reference is a link within the document that when clicked on will navigate the user to another location within the document • Allows to refer back to other sections so that text does not have to be repeated in the document • Allows to link to tables/figures that a section of text is discussing • The cross reference is dynamic. If the order of the document is changed the cross reference will still link to the right place • How to set up? • Go to “Insert” tab • Click “Cross-reference” button • Choose what want to cross reference to (Section, Table, Figure)
