The 6 th Annual MSA Golf Scramble June 25, 2022

TheMSAGolf Scramble and it’s “snow mobile golfers” set a new record with 26 teams taking to the links in Palmyra this year. The scramble was blessed with beautiful weather and the first real heat of the summer. The MSA scramble had a different but wonderful feel this year as the new owners of Fogg Brook Resort guided us through our day. A nice change of pace was the faculty serving up lunch for all the golfers and volunteers and it was yummy. Former MSA Scram ble Head Chef, Mike Grass Sr., got a chance to participate in the scramble this year and had a blast. It also gave me a chance to hang out on hole #2

as golfer after golfer gave it their best shot at winning a new Ski-doo Skan dic. Only 4 of the 26 teams landed on the green with one shot passing within about 12” from the flag but rolling to the fringe before stopping. That got my heart going for a minute. Watch ing everyone tee off and putt away on the hole also gave me a chance to talk to all the teams and thank them for attending. Lots of great words of thanks for the MSA team of volunteers for the work over the last few years. We wrapped up the day with door prizes and announced the winner of the Club Cup, Skowhegan Snow Hawks Team #1, Paul McCarty, Mark

Bernard, Mark Blanchett and Steve Gould. The Open winner was Wicks Tree Farm, Jason Peasley, John Wicken den, Clay Tolman and Wes Butler. Closest to the pin on #13 was Andy Bickmore with a shot of 8’2”. Closest to the pin on #17 was Randy Gifford with a shot of 6’2’. Longest Men’s drive was Tobey Cleaves. Longest women’s drive was Michelle Pinkham. Congrats to all the winners! MSA would like to thank all of our ter rific sponsors this year, many of who stepped up a level for us which helped differ a price increase over past years for the course. MSA would also like to thank all the golfers who came out to make our scramble a success once again and I would like to thank all the MSA volunteers who spent the day making sure the day went smoothly. And finally, a big thank you to Fogg Brook Resort for hosting our event. I’m already looking forward to next year’s event and hope to see all of you out on the links. MSA Golf Scramble Chairman, Mike Grass Jr.
