Bridgton Easy Riders Snowmobile Trip to Caribou 2022

25 members of the Bridgton Easy Riders Snowmobile Club recently returned froma Trip to The Caribou Inn in Caribou, Maine which is famous for its deep snow. “The County” is over a 300-mile drive, but that is where the snow is, this time of the year. They did not disappoint! The area is known for its wide, well groomed trails, including the 20 mile long “Border Trail” between the US and Canada. This year that was a very challenging ride due to the cold, high winds that caused considerable drifting of snow that made it difficult to see the trail. There are other trails that ride a high ridge towards Madawaska that overlooks the St John River with Canada across the valley, in the distance. On Tuesday night, all of the BER ClubMembers joined the Caribou Snowmobile Club at their monthlymeeting at the Par andGrill Restaurant in Caribou. A fine spaghetti dinner was served, which was followed by their Club Meeting. Our members had a chance to see the operation of their club and how they raise money. Food is always the focus of each days ride and there are many Great Restaurants in the area, such as: Dean’s in Portage, Oulette’s Trading

Post in Van Buren, The Lake View in St. Agatha, and The Moose Shack in Fort Kent. These destinations are anywhere from 37 miles to 56 miles, one way. Northern Maine Brewing provided our group with delicious meals on two nights—it was literally within walking distance, across the street. The Crew at the Caribou Inn were terrific, providing a special meeting room for our Breakfasts and several Dinners. Breakfast included, eggs, pancakes, French Toast, sausage, bacon, ham, home fries, muffins, hot and cold cereals, coffee, tea, and orange juice, Special thanks to Betty Hersey (Mgr), Alexa, and Nancy for their attentive service to our group. Everyone had fun and nobody got hurt! Another successful Club Trip!
