We will be selling Super Raffle Tickets, Labor Day Weekend, at the “world famous Springfield Fair”. It is a great way for clubs to raise money and there are great prizes to win!! Quadcounty SC received a capital equip ment grant for a new to us groomer. We are purchasing the New Holland T7 that we leased last winter. It worked out perfect for us. Now for that snow forecasted for us this winter and make the trails smooth. You can follow Quadcounty SC by liking us on Facebook. As I write this, we have just finished up our first event for the season at the club and had our board of directors meeting to settle out the cal endar of events for the 22/23 season. It’s going to be a good one! Our annual lobster feed was a sellout and a great success! A twin lobster dinner complete with corn on the cob, coleslaw, dessert and a drink for $35. Approximately 145 lobsters (72 meals) were served by our members! Larry cooked lobsters, Eileen sold tickets, Carl and Nancy, Gail and Barry, Tami and Don, Pres Brent and Pam, and Marion P all helped keep the meals moving! Thanks to them and others that donated tents,coolers,etc! This spring at the Clubhouse we did some upgrades to the building. The wood siding was getting bad (rot) so it was time for new insu lation and metal siding. This was done with matching color metal by our trail master Larry, Pres Brent and Don N. Thank you! We also wish to thank Charles R for mowing and trim ming at the clubhouse. We have new model snowmobiles and trailers on display from local area businesses. A barbecue lunch is prepared and is free to all that pay or renew a club membership! Our landowner appreciation dinner is put on to show our appreciation to our very generous landowners. Without them, there would be no snowmobile trails and no club. Fundraising MSA super raffle tickets are in! The prizes this year will not let you down! Come to any club meeting to get tickets to sell or just pur chase for yourself. Our 300 club tickets have been printed for this year. Each ticket is $5 per month for your number ($30 total for the 6 months). We give away $1,000 every month from November to April . $500, $200, $100, and then four $50 winners. Come to any club function to purchase a ticket or contact Don Noble at 356-7182 Trails Trail work starts the first Sunday of October (Oct 2nd) and continues every Sunday morn ing! Please meet at the clubhouse by 7:30 a.m. so we can finalize a plan and break up into teams if necessary. Want a free membership to the club? ride, with a hot dog roast at the clubhouse. Memberships and a few prizes were given out. We helped out the Mapleton Daze Committee when the regular hosts of the ride were unable to do it this year. The club could not have done this without the help of Dianna and Tim Cotton, C.J. Hersom and Haley Cole, Lewis Young and many club members who baked and made other goodies. Thank you so much! Work has continued on the trails, but since the bulldozer operator broke his wrist, then later had to have corrective surgery on it, not much has been accomplished. Some ditching has been completed. The work has been ongo ing on trail 105S (Swanback trail) and 74W (River Trail) near the intersection of these two trails. We can only hope for dry weather for September and October. As for the fall, we are in hopes that we can have some events and maybe have regular meetings on alternate months. Oh, if only this Covid virus would go away! The directors will address schedules soon. Membership forms will go out with a newsletter next month, but remember forms are available on Facebook and we’ll keep you updated. The plans for a new groomer are progress ing. Our plan is to purchase a 2022 Pisten Bully but the final figures for grants, etc. are not completely settled. Look for a miniature Groomer model at your local gas station or dealership where donations may be made. We need all the help we can get! Contact Sue or Mickey at 764-1236 if you have any questions or any ideas about fund raising. We had our last groomer for 20 years, so we don’t do this very often and take very good care of our equipment. We hope our trails demonstrate our experience, interest and concern for the sport of snowmobiling. Sue Maynard Secretary Hi to all, Summer has flown by, in 90-degree weather it is hard to think about snowmobiling. I will try to describe Quadcounty Snowmobile Club. We are located in eastern part of Penobscot County in the Town of Springfield. Our 120 miles of ITS connector trail and Club trail connects 4 counties: Penobscot, Washington, Aroostook and Hancock. Our trails traverse through 11 towns and townships tying east ern Maine together with groomed trails done by our certified groomer operators operating two New Holland tractors. We have about 60 members and I am proud to say Quadcounty SC has some old members doing trail work and grooming, we need younger people to step up and take the strain off us older mem bers. We certainly would love more members, actively helping is the best, but members can’t always help with time, distance, work and health commitments. So just joining the club helps greatly. Our club or any club would cer tainly want sledders to join to make Maine’s massive trail system work. Please join a club. Quadcounty SC has been busy over the summer with our Breakfasts, every first and third Saturday morning each month. Our Busiest Breakfast, we served 116 people. It has become the area social event with peo ple visiting while eating a great meal of their choice. We have had such large turnouts for our breakfasts, if you haven’t been to the club house this summer, you should stop in and see the improvements. In July, Quadcounty SC had our annual Chicken BBQ serving 143 people. We will be having our annual Lobster feed on August 27, We will cook 200 pound and half lobsters plus sides and dessert. Hope to see you at the clubhouse! Our kitchen crew does an excellent job cooking and providing delicious meals. We will be serving a Lobster stew Supper, in January. Hello! It’s kind of hard to write about snow mobiling when it’s 80’ and sunny and just yesterday I was floating in a tube down the Penobscot gazing at Mt. Katahdin. Before long we will be remembering how hot we were such a short time ago! Northern Timber Cruisers will be sending out the renewal documents and getting the trails ready for grooming. The Almanac has predicted some cold wet snowy weather so we may have a great season. We can only hope and pray Mother Nature blesses us with an early base followed by regular snowfall. We have updated our website recently and you will find details of club events and hap penings. We recently hosted out 1st ATV Poker run, though it was a small turn out, the riders had a great time followed by lunch at the clubhouse. The winner took $110 which is a good return on $20 entry fee/lunch included. We plan to host a snow season Poker run or two as well. EAST BRANCH SNO-ROVERS & ATV CLUB Medway & East Millinocket, ME ndesc@myfairpoint.net It’s that time of year again; time to write a club report as we enjoy the changing of seasons. We have a beautiful new, large and very col orful club sign, which will be installed direct ing people to use Wilderness Drive to get to the clubhouse. It’s awesome. We have East Branch Sno-Rovers and ATV Club shirts for sale, along with coffee mugs, celebrating our 50th anniversary. Volunteers never stop maintaining and improving trails, no matter what time of year it is. We continue to have Country Music Jams and Dinners every Tuesday night, meals served beginning at 4:30 and music 6 - 9. We are excited to get a new groomer in November. Think snow. Nancy C Deschene Welcome to a new snowmobiling season! It’s never too early to talk snowmobiling. Admit it, how many of you look at trail cross ings when you are driving down the road? We have been working on trail improvements all summer long and will continue to do so well into the fall. For those who may not be up to speed, several bridges have been improved along with a few trails being widened and straightened. This will vastly improve riding enjoyment and safety during those low snow depth times. You will also notice a change of direction on some of ITS Connector Trail 107. New landowners have been incredibly flexible and generous. We want to remind you that your memberships renewals are due at the end of September. You can easily renew our join right in our website listed above. Par ticipation in our club is voluntary but we are always looking for help on trails and in the kitchen when open. We are already thinking about our Annual Vintage Snowmobile Ride- In and Show and have it planned for Saturday February 25 th 2023 so mark your calendars! This also functions as our Landowner Appre ciation. We would not exist without them! We have a newly elected President: Kimberley Joyce! Please be sure and give her a warm welcome. Well folks, here we are, looking forward to another winter of white stuff, trail work, and grooming! Hard to believe in a short time these 80-90 degree days will give way to below zero temperatures and (hopefully) a thick blanket of that white gold! Anyone who was able to get out and ride on our trail system last winter is well aware of a major trail issue we have which has, in effect, broken the connection between the east and west sides of the city. Due to this, we have also lost our direct connection to the Glenburn trail system. We have spent a lot of time and energy working to find a solution to this that won’t require a major re-route of a trail that has existed for MANY years. At this point it looks like we will probably need to re-route the trail, but we still may not have a direct connection to Glenburn. This project is our #1 priority as we start to look toward fall and the winter riding season, and we hope to have it sorted out before snow flies! Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates and postings on when we will have workdays, etc. We always try to get out to do trail work, as needed, whenever weather and volunteer availability permits. Here we are headed into another snowmo bile season. Seems like summer just started and now we have to start thinking about which trails will be open this season, brushing them out, getting groomers in shape and a hundred other tasks.

But before all that a recap of what some of our members were up to this summer. A big shout out to members Debi, Steve and Denise for making the float for the Greenville 4 th of July parade. They won for “the most creative float”. Congratulations all! Rhonda Arey
