care and maintenance

Ceramic / Fine Fireclay sinks Always wipe the sink down with warm soapy water and a cloth after use and dry thoroughly. This will remove general everyday stains from your sink. For ceramics china rubbers will clear most marks, we recommend these are used with washing up liquid. – In hard water areas limescale deposits can build up on the sink over time. The limescale can become strongly coloured by such foods as coffee and red wine etc, we recommend the use of 3 parts hot water and 1 part white vinegar to remove this. Simply apply, leave for a few minutes and rinse away with water. – If stains become ingrained in the bowl, an overnight soak using diluted biological washing powder should remove the marks easily. Ensure you thoroughly rinse the sink with water afterwards. You must not pour strong chemicals down the sink such as bleach, ammonia, caustic soda, white sprit and sterilising solutions. If this should accidentally happen, quickly wipe the spill away and rinse with plenty of water Avoid dropping sharp objects into the sink, as this may scratch or damage the surface. – Leaving neat bleach in the sink can cause damage to all sinks even stainless steel. If neat bleach should come into contact with your sink, please rinse thoroughly with warm soapy water. Only ever use a soft cloth for cleaning your sink and never use an abrasive pad or cloth. Taps All taps should be simply cleaned with warm soapy water and a cloth, do not use abrasive powders or scouring pads as they can have an adverse effect to the surface finish of the tap. Limescale again can have an adverse effect to the workings of your tap, should the nozzle become clogged we recommend cleaning the nozzle with a tooth brush or similar implement in order to “brush” away limescale deposits. Periodic removal of the nozzle and soaking in a diluted white vinegar solution can also prolong the life of your tap. Your tap features state of the art technology, debris, grit and contaminants within the water system and should be flushed through the system prior to the installation and commissioning of your tap to ensure they do not come into contact or damage/clog the valves within the tap.

All sinks and taps have been manufactured to ensure many years of trouble free use. We recommend washing, rinsing and drying your sink after each use, weekly cleaning with a specific sink cleaner is also recommended. Stainless steel sinks Bleach/chlorides - these are found in almost all cleaning solutions and detergents and if left on your sink for long periods can be damaging. Please avoid prolong contact of these substances as they can attack the surface of your sink and can cause damage. Please ensure substances such as these are thoroughly rinsed from the sink surface and flushed through pipework after use. Always wipe the sink down after rinsing and apply a stainless steel cleaning substance on a weekly basis. Scratching - like most metallic surfaces your stainless steel sink will scratch. Don’t worry, these are simply usage marks and will eventually blend into the overall finish of the sink. Hard water areas are susceptible to limescale deposits, these can be reduced by cleaning the sink thoroughly after every use, a solution of 3 parts hot water to 1 part white vinegar can be used to help remove any deposits, please remember to rinse and dry your sink thoroughly after applying this method. Only ever use a cloth to apply any cleaning solution, never use an abrasive pad. Granite sinks Bleach/chlorides - these are found in almost all cleaning solutions and detergents and if left on your sink for long periods can be damaging. Please avoid prolong contact of these substances as they can attack the surface of your sink and can cause damage. Please ensure substances such as these are thoroughly rinsed from the sink surface and flushed through pipework immediately after use. Always wipe the sink down after rinsing and apply a granite sink cleaning liquid to the surface of the sink on a weekly basis, remembering to fully rinse and dry your sink thoroughly. Hard water areas are susceptible to limescale deposits, these can be reduced by cleaning the sink thoroughly after every use. A diluted bleach solution can be used to help remove any deposits, please remember to rinse and dry your sink thoroughly after applying this method as any remaining bleach solution could damage your sink surface irreplaceably.
