The Building Division is dedicated to providing thorough plan review and inspections, accurate and timely permit

issuance, and responsible customer satisfaction. Public safety and service in the building environment is our number one goal for new and existing structures, decks, pools, and basement finishes. The Building Department provides the following services: • Commercial and Residential Plan Review • Commercial and Residential Inspections • New Infrastructure Inspections: Streets-Water-Sanitary Sewer-Storm Sewer • G.I.S. Mapping of the City of Troy The Building Department also administers the City of Troy Downtown Historical District regulations. The City is a Historical Certified Local Government: Providing a mechanism to identify and preserve the distinctive historic, archaeological and architectural characteristics of Troy, which represent elements of the City’s cultural, social economic, political and architectural history. Fostering civic pride in the beauty and noble accomplishment of the past as represented in Troy landmarks and historic districts. Conserving and improving the value of property designated as landmarks or within historic districts. Providing for economic benefits to encourage business and residential owners to locate and invest in historically significant properties.
