Listeria monocytogenes in SelectFoods and Environmental Surfaces 3M ™ Molecular Detection Assay(MDA) 2- Listeria monocytogenes Method

First Action 2016 4 5 (Applicable to detection of Listeria monocytogenes hot dogs (25g & 125g), salmon (25g), deli 6 turkey (25g & 125g), cottage cheese (25g), chocolate milk (25 mL), vanilla ice cream (25g), 7 queso fresco (25g), romaine lettuce (25g), melon (whole), raw chicken leg pieces (25g); raw 8 chicken breast fillet (25g), concrete (3M™ Hydrated Sponge Stick with Dey-Engley [D/E] , 225 9 mL & 100 mL), stainless steel (3M Hydrated Sponge Stick with D/E, 225 mL), and plastic 10 (3M™ Enviroswab with Letheen, 10 mL) environmental samples. 11 12 See Tables 2016.1A and 2016.1B for a summary of results of the inter-laboratory study. 13 See Tables 2016.2A and 2016.2B for detailed results of the inter-laboratory study 16 17 The 3M ™ Molecular Detection Assay (MDA) 2 - Listeria monocytogenes method is used with 18 the 3M ™ Molecular Detection System (MDS) for the rapid and specific detection of Listeria 19 monocytogenes in enriched food and food process environmental samples. The 3M MDA2 - 20 Listeria monocytogenes uses loop-mediated isothermal amplification of unique DNA target 21 sequences with high specificity and sensitivity, combined with bioluminescence to detect the 22 amplification. Presumptive positive results are reported in real-time while negative results are 23 displayed after the assay is completed. Samples arepre-enriched in Demi Fraser with ferric 24 ammonium citrate broth. 14 15 A.
