These folks proudly ignore modern trends in the pursuit of a new legacy steeped in the old ways. These whiskies can certainly give the “pig” a run for the money. There are many definitions of what a “whippersnapper” is. We prefer the interpretation that a whippersnapper is a young, impertinent person, generally lacking in respect for the elders, but who also has an excess of ambition to go along with the impertinence. This young whiskey is no sullen layabout. He’s got some real gumption. Enough to

make those old whiskey geezers that have spent the better part of their life just lazing around in their charred barrels… nervous as a long tailed cat in room full of rocking chairs!

WHIPPERSNAPPER OREGON (Ransom) Oregon Whiskey #30133098 / 750ml

Only a distiller who really knows what he’s doing could get away with creating a whiskey like this. This young, ambitious whiskey has more character than most whiskeys 10 times its age! Ransom’s distillers thought way outside the box here, and the result is one of the most fascinating youngsters on the market. A blend of a proprietarily distilled malt whiskey is blended with an unaged Kentucky bourbon. The blend is then aged in a variety of barrels including used French Pinot Noir barrels and new charred oak barrels. Compelling and fun to play with in cocktails.
