The ambulance raced through the streets taking the young man and his father to the local hospital. The fa- ther was not badly injured but the son was rushed into emergency surgery. The surgeon took one look at him and cried, "I cannot operate - that is my son!" Please explain!

STEPPING THROUGH A POSTCARD
The postcard, or any small piece of paper or card, can be cut into one long continous strip which will open out to make a large loop, by cutting it as shown in illustration.
If the number of cuts is large enough, then the loop made from postcard will be big enough to step through.
