This comprehensive programme is a practical two-day session, designed to help senior executives become non-executive directors across private organisations, not-for-profits and the public sector. • Understand the role of the chair, succession and transition of board members. • Compare non-executive roles in different organisations, including not-for-profit sector. • How to work effectively with executive search firms and optimise your non-executive CV. • Explore a case study presented by Patrick Dunne, author of Boards; discuss the issues which arise and the options for resolution. • Discuss your conclusions and next steps.

Programme director

Ian White MBA Ian has been the chief legal officer and company secretary for listed and major private companies. Having spent much of his career as a lawyer, he is now a strategy consultant, coach, trainer and facilitator. His experience has led to an expertise in corporate governance, working with boards on effectiveness and enhancement. Ian has undertaken board effectiveness reviews for FTSE 100 and small cap companies, large private companies, private equity-backed companies, building societies, SMEs and not-for-profit organisations. He is also a founder member of the Board Effectiveness Guild, a membership organisation which seeks to share best practice, contribute to thought leadership and promote the value of board effectiveness reviews.
