3.10.E – Taking a blood pressure (palpation)

Objectives: Demonstrate how to take a blood pressure by palpation

Equipment: Blood pressure cuff

Instructions: - Group your students into pairs. One group may have three people in odd-numbered student groups. - Demonstrate how to take a blood pressure by palpation. Have students follow along on their skills sheet. Limit this demonstration to no longer than 3 minutes. - Have students take BP’s on each other. They should document the values obtained on their skills sheet.
