Deployment: DO NOT LECTURE – your students should be working hands-on within 5 minutes of arriving

Deploy your students in one team – one student should be team leader, the others should Assess patients and report the findings to the team leader who will make the decision of what resources to allocate to that patient.

C.4.A – Trauma Triage and Transport (30 min) Instructor: “You are the treatment/transport officer at a mass casualty incident. You will have 9 patients to determine transport options for. You have available 4 BLS units, 2 ALS units, and 1 helicopter transport. The level I trauma center 15 minutes away can take 3 patients, the level 2 trauma center 8 minutes away can take 2 patients, and the local community hospital 3 minutes away can take as many patients as you need.”
