In line with group policies, our holding company, Aliaxis, encouraged Marley Pipe Systems to adapt to a ‘lead free environment’ at our Nigel and Rosslyn operations as early as 2006 which came into effect in 2008. Effective July 2015, new SABS regulations dictate that manufacturers of PVC pipes & fittings will be required to remove heavy metals from their manufacturing processes if they wish to retain their SABS approval certification. As a founding member of the SABS mark scheme, we have a proud record of over 40 years of serving the South African market with quality approved drainage products. This is a commitment that Marley Pipe Systems will continue to honour. We welcome this new regulation within our industry. *Disclaimer – Products manufactured by Marley at the Nigel and Rosslyn sites are guaranteed to be heavy metal free. Marley cannot guarantee, however, that product buy-outs from alternative manufacturing sites/suppliers are heavy metal free.
