Partners in care: Is your service client and family-centred? 9 April 2019, 3pm Different sectors use a number of terms that are guided by their own unique philosophies, policies and funding that frame what we, as speech pathologists, do. In this webinar, we will explore some of these terms such as family-focused, consumer-driven and holistic. One such sector, disability, has a need for more collaboration between service providers and clients; for example, the NDIS. We will also present case studies illustrating examples of best practice. Code of Ethics resource

Speech pathologists increasingly work in varying climates where complexity of client problems and needs, a proliferation of legislation, and accelerated rates of change make prescriptive statements about ethical practices of limited use. In such workplace climates, speech pathologists are

encouraged to utilise the SPA Code of Ethics as a decision-making tool. The Code describes our professional ethics in an aspirational framework which can support and provide confidence in professional decisions made everyday with every client.
