World of Golf

GL-14

GL-14, owners of two branded health clubs in Hitchin and Manchester, instructed Christie + Co to offer for sale both the health clubs as going concerns. GL-14 is part of the PJ Livesey Group. Its unique selling point is in the development of Grade II Listed buildings for contemporary use. The clubs were acquired by the Bannatyne Group.

One of Europe’s most popular golf centres, World Of Golf in New Malden, Surrey was marketed for sale by Christie + Co. Set in nine acres, World of Golf provides a two-tier, 60- bay driving range, one of the busiest golf shops in the country, a Costa Coffee franchise licensed to sell alcohol and a Jurassic Encounter Adventure Golf course, featuring animatronic dinosaurs (above).

Luminar Leisure

Cougar Leisure

Acting on the instruction of the joint administrators of Cougar Leisure Limited, Begbies Traynor, Christie + Co sold the 650-capacity Spirit nightclub in Manchester to the G-A-Y Group, owners of the best-known gay and lesbian club in the UK. The group acquired the site in order to open its first G-A-Y venue outside London.

Prior to entering administration, Luminar Leisure, owner of 75 nightclubs operating under the Oceana, Liquid and Lava & Ignite brands, instructed Christie + Co to value many of the clubs. Luminar was bought in a £45 million deal by former executive Peter Marks, together with Alex Geffert and Joe Heanen, who plan to refresh the group over the next two years.
