Banksia Gazzette July2019
From the Manager s Desk
Hi Everyone …. Welcome to the July 2019 Issue of the Banksia Grove Gazette.
Well … Winter has certainly arrived with a vengeance…. so it’s time to dig out the winter woollies & uggies. It’s also a good idea to check your smoke alarms, electric and gas heaters and electrical appliances are all operation and fully charged for the winter period and be mindful of turning heaters off when sleeping or going out. What a month we’ve had … Banksia Grove Biggest Morning Tea was amazing once again this year. Congratulations and thanks to the Committee Members and Banksia Grove Residents for their efforts in organising this fantastic fundraiser. It is a credit to everyone who took part in the day and contributed to raise an amazing amount of $1540.00. Hampshire was once again happy to offer their support with a $500.00 donation, bringing the grand total to $2040.00 towards this worthy cause. A big thankyou to everyone who donated prizes, money, purchased raffle tickets and participated on the day. In the midst of the Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser there was a very pleasant interlude when members of the Williamtown Salt Ash Rural Fire Brigade came to visit and they were presented with a donation from the residents of Banksia Grove. This donation - $1421 —was raised from money collected in the locked “Fireman’s Hat” from Residents and from two garage sales held in the village. Residents donated various items of jewellery, furniture, clothes and bric-a brac The donation reflects the appreciation of not only the residents, but also Hampshire Property Group/Banksia Grove Village Management. In appreciation of the huge effort put in by our Residents and the awesome job the Rural Fire Service do for Banksia Grove, Richard Black, (Group Manager-Residents Relations-Hampshire) matched the residents’ donation and put forward an additional $1000 on behalf of Hampshire Property Group towards the Brigade raising the donations to over $2421. Well done everyone!!! See Photos Pge12-17 The Banksia Grove BLING & BOW TIE was a fabulous fun night … everyone made a huge effort with their outfits … watch this space for some great photos in the next edition of the Banksia Grove Gazette. A huge effort from Robyn and everyone else who gave their all to make it such a success.
