TPS Year in Review 2016-2017
A Message from the Superintendent of Schools
What we value here at the Taunton Public Schools can best be described by sharing our hopes and dreams for every TPS graduate. Consistent with our mission of “academic excellence for every student, in every classroom, in every school,” we want all our young people — regardless of any real or perceived barriers to learning — to achieve all that is possible. We want our students to leave TPS prepared for college, careers, and a life fulfilled. We want our young people to realize their unique strengths, talents, and giŌs in an- ything and everything: the arts, athleƟcs, or other extra-curricular and co-curricular interests. We want them to be acƟve and engaged school ciƟzens who graduate with the skills and confidence to make a posiƟve difference in their community. This shared vision is what we are working toward each and every day here at TPS. During the 2016-2017 school year — thanks to the collaboraƟve efforts of students, parents and caregivers, educators, community members, and city leaders — we were proud to celebrate many academic, arƟsƟc, athleƟc, and civic achievements, just a few of which are highlighted here in our annual “Year in Review.” ‐ Dr. Julie HackeƩ
