Consent Order – Murray Macdonald Johnson PEng, North Vancouver, BC Mr Johnson was randomly selected for a Practice Review. During the course of his practice review, Mr Johnson was requested by the Practice Review Committee of the Association to provide certain information and documents. The requested materials were not received and the Practice Review Committee adopted a resolution requesting the Investigation Committee to investigate the conduct of Mr Johnson. Following its investigation and review of the matter, the Investigation Committee recommended that an inquiry be held regarding Mr Johnson’s failure to provide the Practice Review Committee with the requested information. In lieu of proceeding to a discipline inquiry, Mr Johnson signed a Consent Order with the Association admitting certain unprofessional conduct. Mr Johnson was reprimanded and agreed that on or before May 31, 2012, he would: 1. Provide the Practice Review Committee with all information requested pursuant to Section 44 of the Act ;

2. Pay a fine to the Association in the amount of $5,000; and 3. Pay legal costs to the Association in the amount of $3,155.26. Mr Johnson has met the above conditions. Consent Order – Edmund Ukmow Wong PEng, Richmond, BC

A complaint was received by the Association regarding Mr Wong’s structural drawings for a townhouse development in Vancouver, which did not meet the requirements of the Vancouver Building By-law. The matter was eventually referred to the Investigation Committee, which found that the drawings were deficient and recommended an inquiry. In lieu of proceeding to a discipline inquiry, Mr Wong admitted the design was deficient and accepted as his penalty: 1. A reprimand; 2. Resignation of his membership in the Association by December 31, 2012; 3. To have his professional engineering services for any existing or new projects peer reviewed until the date of his resignation; and 4. Payment of the Association’s legal costs, disbursements and taxes in this matter up to the amount of $1,500.
