THE VERITAS VERTEX AWARD

The Board of Veritas decided last year to name one wine as the overall champion of the competition as from 2017. This top accolade, known as the Veritas Vertex Award, takes its name from the Latin vertex , which means “highest point”. Vertex is sometimes also used to indicate the ‘top’ or ‘high point’ of something, such as the vertex of an isosceles triangle, which is the ‘top’ corner opposite its base – which fits perfectly into the Veritas Awards notion of being the pinnacle of all the medals awarded.

A panel of judges, including the international judges were nominated to taste all the Double Gold

winning wines and to select the Veritas Vertex Award from them.
