Responsibility for setting Oil & Gas UK’s position on policy matters lies with the Board whose members represent a cross-section of the industry. The Board comprises 12 representatives from operator companies; 10 representatives from contractor/supply chain companies; one representative from a non- operator or independent oil company and the chief executive of Oil & Gas UK. Industry members of the Board have to offer themselves up for re-appointment every two years and no industry representative can serve on the board for more than five years. This ensures that the organisation remains well connected to the industry and all members are given the opportunity to contribute to its governance.
