WELCOME & INTRODUCTION (Palmer Orlandi, AOAC INTERNATIONAL – 9:00AM – 9:15AM) Palmer Orlandi (AOAC) will open the meeting and welcome attendees and lead introductions of the attendees. Orlandi will outline the purpose of the meeting. HISTORY AND SCOPE OF THE AOAC FOOD AUTHENTICITY PROGRAM (Deborah McKenzie/Palmer Orlandi, AOAC INTERNATIONAL – 9:15AM – 10:00AM) McKenzie will summarize the history of AOAC Food Authenticity Program. She will also present the process for moving forward in the Food Authenticity Program. Orlandi will discuss new processes and the options for scope of work in FY 2019 and a prospective multi-year program. LAUNCH OF AOAC WORKING GROUP ON NONTARGETED ANALYSIS/TESTING (John Szpylka, Mérieux NutriSciences – 10:00AM – 12:00PM) Szpylka will explain nontargeted testing and lead the working group in a discussion during which the group reaches general consensus on identifying and prioritizing commodities LAUNCH OF AOAC WORKING GROUP ON TARGETED ANALYSIS/TESTING (Joe Boison, Independent Consultant – 1:00PM – 2:00PM) Boison will explain targeted testing and based on the identification and prioritization of the nontargeted testing working group, he will lead the working group discussion during which the group will reach general consensus on identifying and prioritizing gaps for targeted testing. SUMMARIZING THE SCOPE (Palmer Orlandi, AOAC INTERNATIONAL – 2:00PM – 2:15PM) Based on the working group discussions, Orlandi will summarize the progress made during the meeting in defining the scope of each working group. NEXT STEPS (Palmer Orlandi, AOAC INTERNATIONAL – 2:15PM – 2:30PM) Orlandi will inform attendees of next steps for working groups and for overall scope of effort for the AOAC Food Authenticity program.
