Associate Director of Athletics Dan Yourg has been amember of the USO Athletics Depart– ment since the fall of 1985. Yourg oversees footba ll, baseball, men's

Brian Fogarty enters his second year as USD 's Associate Director of Athletics for Ath– letic Development. He took over this post after spending thirteen years as USD 's head football coach. He directed USD 's football program to eleven seasons of .500 or better records and guided their move from the Division Ill ranks to the NCAA I-AA level in 1993. . His primary. responsibilities are with fund raising, and marketing and promotions for the athletic department. Brian and his wife Vicki, who reside in the Scripps Ranch area of San Diego, have four children: Bridget (a senior at USO), Joe, Colleen and Megan.

Assistant Director ofAthletics for Marketing and Promotions Renee Wiebe has been hired for the new position of Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing and Promotions. Her previous ex– perience in athl eti cs was at the University of

USO staff, her first as the Assistant Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator. Guthrie is a 1991 graduate of Whittier College(B.A. in Business Administration) where 11,.;;~~~~~~-- she was a member of the cross country and track team. Upon graduati on she worked as an admissions counselor and Assistant Director of Admissions at Whittier. She earned her Master's in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Administration at Springfield College in Massachusetts while working a fellowship for two years. After Springfield she held the position of Assistant Director of Athleti cs at St. Francis College in Pennsylvania for one year. In 1995 she interned with the U.S. Olympic Festival. Steve Brown Strength & Conditioning Coach Steve is in his third yea r as the University of San Diego Strength and Conditioning Coach. He came to San Diego from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach since 1991. A 1983 graduate of Brown University (Biology), Steve was a two-sport letterman in footba ll (defensive back)and track (long jumper). He earned his Master's degree in Human Kinetics in 1991 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. From 1983-90 he was an assis– tant football coach at Wauwatosa East High School in Wauwatosa yYisconsin, and_ass isted in _track in 1988. He is cu rrently working o~ hisPh.D In Physical Education (focus of studies in Exercise Physiology).

She earned her Bachelor of Journalism-Broadcast Sequence from the University of Missouri-Columbia in May, 1991. She went on to earn her Masters of Education with an emphasis in Sports Ad– mInIstratIon from Wichita State University in August, 1993. Carolyn Greer Head Athletic Trainer Carolyn Greer enters her twentieth year as the Head Certified Athletic Trainer for the University of San Diego athletic department. . A 1_975 graduate of San Diego State Uni– versity with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physi– L;;~~~~~~;;.I ca l Education, Carolyn went on to earn her Master's in Sports Medicine in 1978. Over the years she has taught classes in Sports Medicine and h_ad numerous articles published in a variety of journals. She oversees sixteen intercollegiate teams and approximately 350 USO student– athletes_ on a yearl y_ basis. The Sports Medicine staff provides injury prevention, 1mmed1ate care, and rehabilitation for USD 's intercolle– giate athletes. Carolyn, and her husband Jeff, reside in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego with their two boys, David and Jason. Ted Gosen Sports Information Director Ted Cosen is in his 16th yea r serving as USD's Director of Sports Information. He .

Sara begins her first year as USD 's Aca– demic Support Coordinator. She earn ed her B.A. degree in Psychology from UCLA in 1990. She held tutor and supervisor positions for the Athletics Department at UCLA and also

handles publicity and publications for all USO Athletics teams, in addition to hosting media at USO events. He is assisted by Mike Daniels. In 1981 Ted received his Master's of Science degree in Sports Administration from

Her research interests are in motivation self-esteem and exerc ise and has published several articles in her field. '

In add1t1on to his SID duties, Ted is a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA); ass ists the USO Hall of Fame Committee; and teaches a bowling class through the recreation department. . .
