Don Fraser’s 2014 Ford FX4 5.0 is a truck with a purpose: “The truck was put together to honour the 5 soldiers I served with in Afghanistan in 2008. It’s my way of keeping their memories alive.” It is named CH16 “as it’s the 16 th auto in our volunteer foundation, Canadian Heroes.” Don chose this pickup because: “the truck had all the bells and whistles I was looking for.” He had the wrap in- stalled first “as it’s a long process”. His favourite

accessories are “my painted rims and the light bar.” CH16 began to feel like Don’s dream ride after he had the “window visors, tailgate light bar and window tint” added. He has plans to get “a tail exhaust tip and under glow” next. He also has a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac “which is very similar to my new truck, keeping memories alive.” Regarding other vehicles that he admires, Don writes: “I’m a big fan of the Land Rover Discovery, old style, for its looks and its off-road capabilities”.

Based out of Edmonton, Don and CH16 “tour Western Canada, going to community events, air shows and schools promoting awareness of our fallen and injured past, present and future.” Don is often accompanied by his wife Cindy and his son Brice who help him by detailing photos and who support his efforts in this great cause. Don is a volunteer for The Canadian Heroes Foundation, which is a not for profit organization with the

mission to create awareness and support for our Front-Line Responders, our Fallen Heroes and their families. It is also a tribute to those who have served in the past, present and future.

The Company Overview on The Canadian Heroes Foundation’s Face book page states: “The Cana- dian Heroes Foundation is built on Volunteers, the only pay we receive is pride in what we are do- ing and seeing a smile on the faces of the family members of the fallen or an embracing hug and the ultimate pay, those two words THANK YOU. It is our Honour to volunteer here.”
