The Accessory Dream Guide Issue 5

FEATURED VEHICLE

Year/Make/Model: 2005 Dodge 2500 Cummins Owner: Josh Billett Location: Red Deer, AB Instagram: @jbill99

Josh Billett claims: “Dodge is in my blood” and that’s why his truck, called #twinturbo, is a 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins. This Red Deer auto mechanic apprentice clearly tells it like it is. After discovering what the truck’s name is, it is no big surprise to learn that Josh’s favourite modifi- cation so far is the twin turbos. He even started with an impressive accessory. His first addition was an “8” touch screen deck”. He also has a great sense of humor because he can joke about his next mod being “new wheels ‘AGAIN’. Although he began thinking of it as his dream ride right from the day he bought it and while he uses it for everything: “daily drive it, car shows and as much as I can!”, #twinturbo is also an educational tool for Josh. His favourite memory of his pickup is: ”building it myself and learning”. This makes complete sense for an auto mechanic apprentice who also writes that the other vehicles he admires are his own builds. When he was asked if he had any other toys besides his truck, he replied: “I have a 2010 snowmobile and a 2008 Kawasaki dirt bike.” It’s a pretty sure bet that he’s worked on their engines as well. Josh added that he installed the mods on his truck by himself and that #twinturbo is now “laying 613hp/1513ft lbs. of torque to the rear wheels.” He’s fully involved with the social side of being a vehicle modifier. In addition to taking his Ram to car shows, Josh belongs to several local and Canadian groups. He is a member of the Alberta Coal Rollers, whose Facebook page describes it as: “A group for Albertans and area diesel truck owners, open discussion, parts and performance, post pics of your own rig, tips and tricks tech.” He also belongs to BertaRAMS, and Raven Truck Accessories’ Truck Enthusiasts.
