Our Sustainability Philosophy We define our sustainability as long-term prosperity for our people, customers, communities and company delivered through Genuine Service Excellence. Our long-term success depends on a strategy that integrates economic, environmental and social responsibilities with the ingenuity to adapt over time.

AK Steel / ITU AbsorbTech History One of our inside sales staff spoke with a secretary that works with Dave Miracle. She provided Dave’s name and thought ITU AbsorbTech would be a good fit with AK Steel on a number of levels (environmental/sustainability, geography, product usage/need, corporate goals and safety initiatives).

October 2014

November 2014 February 2015

Larry Gard began his attempt to establish contact with Dave Miracle.

Garrett Smith and Larry met with Kelly Long in Coshocton. Kelly liked our concepts, our processing methods and our products. She agreed to a trial for her facility. Garrett met with Kelly. She stated that Jennifer Posma needed to be involved and needed to give approval prior to putting any product in AK facilities. Kelly said we need to establish contact with Samantha Frazier to discuss a corporate relationship. Larry met with Jennifer Posma. She told me we needed to get approved through AK Steel Corporate legal team prior to installing a trial at any facility.

March 2015

April 2015

Garrett Smith & Larry Gard

Larry sent a package with SorbIts ® samples, along with the AK Steel Product Portfolio attached in this email to Dave Miracle’s attention. Garrett worked with Kelly to get approved to install the trial in Coshocton. Larry had been reaching out to both Dave and Jennifer for some feedback/follow up. Nothing solid ever occurred. Garrett learned Jennifer is no longer involved on the absorbent side of the business and we needed to establish contact with the Todd Heggie. Dave Snyder and Larry meet with Todd to discuss product offerings and methods to proceed. Larry continued trying to work with Todd, but was never able to establish additional contact for follow-up. Garrett continued working with Kelly to try and get us into Coshocton. Larry worked with Samantha at corporate AK Steel to ensure that our master agreement certification was still valid. It was and it still is. Larry sent the attached Product Portfolio document to Jennifer’s attention so that she could be more familiar with our products. Larry worked with Samantha Frazier to get ITU AbsorbTech certified. The goal was to grant us access to your facilities to install trial product. We completed and signed off on the “AK Steel Corporation Contractor and Service Providers Master Agreement no. 4377R.” Matt Zabik (AK Steel GM of Procurement) signed from the AK Steel side. We received positive trial feedback from Kelly, but she informed us that it would be difficult to move forward from her perspective and that we needed to get buy-in from additional corporate people. AK Steel / ITU AbsorbTech History

Fall 2016

February 2017

Larry and Don Jenkins (ITU AbsorbTech AE who covers KY and IN) had a meeting set with Joshua Sutter from Rock Port IN facility. He was unable to meet with us when we arrived at the facility.

March 2017

Garrett spoke with and met with Kelly a few times. She told us that Todd Heggie is no longer involved with AK Steel and that we needed to work Dean Morris out of Rock Port IN. Larry, Garrett and Dean arranged a conference call to discuss our program, our relationship with AK and action items necessary to move forward.

Questions?

We need to determine which facility (facilities) we should work with first.

Who (besides Kelly and Dean) do we need to get involved from the AK Steel side to be able to get our products and services moving forward. Ideally, once we get some traction at one or two plants, we would like to perform needs analysis at each AK Steel site so that we can determine the products and services that each facility will benefit from. ITU AbsorbTech will install custom no charge and no commitment trials at every AK Steel facility that would like one.

Can you provide additional environmental/maintenance contacts at different sites that we can reach out to?
