Source: Car Importers Association In terms of fuels used, petrol still dominates new passenger car registrations (66% in 2023), followed by diesel (25%). Pure battery cars were 6,640 (3% share of new car registrations) and plug-in hybrids 5,653 (2.6% share) in 2023. Together, electric cars (battery and plug-in hybrids) thus accounted for 5.6% of total new passenger car registrations in the Czech Republic in 2023 (but the share of electric cars in Czech production was 13%).
