Meeting. It seems Jane, Paul, Qian, Sidney will be going, and a discussion began about the value of holding a Stat group meeting at lunch. Comments were made that other conferees may show up and a valuable exchange might ensue even if only a few from Statcom are present. Sidney will ask Paul to suggest a venue. b. The AOAC Cannabis working group : - Sidney Sudberg/Anli Gao/Robert LaBudde Scott participated in a recent call and commented this work will be challenging. Particularly, he noted, that the AOAC frequently gets questions on LOD and LOQ so, what should be our definition? He had a list of terms from a meeting last March with Delia and noted that often there are differences in definitions according to source. Robert asked if these terms related to quant or qual and how are they to be used? He commented that non-normal data is often seen and hence quantiles might be used. Hilde noted they are very important and useful when validating methods. There was a discussion on forming a committee for LOD & LOQ but Delia suggested stepping back and seeing what needs to be done before forming committees. There are many terms floating around that might need agreement. For instance in appendix K. Mike reminded the committee that Hildeā€™s recent tabulated list might serve as a start. Hilde may resubmit that work as a start. Robert said a glossary would define terms. We do not have one ready for Sept 8 and Robert suggested a delay because of the upcoming AM. Possibly prepare for the issue thereafter. Delia asked if we are publishing information based on committee consensus or other topics. Robert commented if need committee approval, it would take a lot of time to effort to hit publication dates. He thinks the topics should be simple, like terms etc. Sidney suggested even previews and response to reader feedback. Hence, our first target issue is N/D. Delia will get us a contact the scheduling protocol. Delia suggested publishing something that would engage the readers and promote discussion. She reminded the committee that there are other avenues to publish more expansive consensus work. Scott suggested to get started to see what the response is. A simple disclaimer might be posted in the publication that describes the intended use. NEW BUSINESS Bimonthly article to be published in every issue of ILM, of Statistical interest, to the Stat Committee.
