ADDITIONALLY,

• Comments received by AOAC and R‐Biopharm from laboratories are as  follows

Dear all, regarding the official method of analysis AOAC 2012.01, I need to know if it has  been recently reviewed. Thank you in advance.   ‐ Received 3/2019.

Comments  • Thank you very much for your interest to collaborate for the  application of the method AOAC 2012.01. Our laboratory offers analysis to private firms and to public  institution, for example to check school meal for students. We adopted AOAC 2012.1 from 2012 as accredited method  and we tested different kind of food, in some proficiency  tests too and even with spiked samples.  In addition  it is  expected to use it for testing polyphenol‐containing  samples in the Preparation point: Therefore I was very surprised to know that the method is  now limited to Corn‐ and Rice‐Based  Products.  I suppose that the expert review panel found out some  limitations, but how it is possible to let the use of skim milk  powder in the preparation? Chocolate with corn, or  buckwheat cake with rice are not available in Italy. I know that the table 2012.01 about Interlaboratory Studies  Results shows Corn and Rice spiked samples, but this is a  limitation for me. It would be interesting to analyse in a  Interlaboratory Study different kind of food, as happens in  proficiency tests. I thank you for the attention and I hope to collaborate for  understanding if it is possible to expand again the AOAC  2012.01 method.    ‐ Received 1/2019

I would need a clarification about the AOAC method  2012.01. The paper method I possess reports the title: "AOAC  Official Method 2012.01 Gliadin as a Measure of Gluten  in Foods Containing Wheat, Rye, and Barley". The website  (http://www.eoma.aoac.org/methods/info.asp?ID=498 73) reports: Gliadin as a Measure of Gluten in Rice and  Corn‐Based Foods, always with the same reference  AOAC 2012.01. What is the correct version? Thanks and best regards ‐ Received 12/2019 Hertha Deutsch from the European Celiac Association  asked the AOAC representatives (Darryl Sullivan?)  during the last CCNFSDU meeting in Berlin about the  fact that the intended use of AOAC 2012.01 was  narrowed.  ‐ Received 11/2019
