AOAC ERP Gluten Assays - March 2019

Comments  To whom it may concern We need you to confirm us last version and matrices for  OMA AOAC 2012.01 method for gluten.

I would like to be shure if it is suitable for example in  cestnout cake I would like to understaind why  i read matrices Food  and after grains /barley grains wheat http://www.eoma.aoac.org/methods/info.asp?ID=4987 3  ‐ Received 3/2018 I collected some info from a governmental laboratory  here in Italy.  This AOAC 2012.01 seems to be an update  of the previous method. Update made by the AOAC. The  only real news is that it has changed the title from  “foods containing gluten” to “corn‐ and rice‐based foods  containing gluten”. This means that foods not based on corn and/or rice (for  example meat products) can NO more be analysed by a  method accredited by national accreditation  organizations. This seems to be a great problem!  Do you  know something more on the matter? Thks ‐ Received 11/2018

Thanks in advance Received 11/2018

I would like to have some information about the scope  of the method 2012.01.  The title has been changed in  Rice‐ and Corn‐Based Foods. Is this method applicable to other kind of food,  containing low level of gluten also from cross  contamination? for example chocolate or dairy  products ? Or do I have to apply this method only for Rice‐ and  Corn‐Based Foods?  Do you know the reason behind  the change of the title?  ‐ Received 10/2018

Comments  Just to illustrate that this is currently hot topics in France,  here is the situation I'm currently facing. I had an Afnor Technical Committee meeting for the validation of rapid  testing method on Monday and Tuesday this week (we  don't proceed with food allergens so far, but it may be an  interesting topic to consider in a near future if it's of  interest to R‐Biopharm. Let me receive any feedback you  can forward here if you wish so and if of interest to you).  I'm the current chair of this Afnor TC. One of the Afnor TC  members is COFRAC (the accreditation body in France), and  she came to me with questions around your AOAC‐OMA  validation for the Ridascreen Gliadin. Therefore, I'm going  to answer their questions with the information you have e‐ mailed me. Thank you for that and feel free to discuss the content of  this e‐mail with Sigried or any other person from R‐ Biopharm. Best regards,‐ Received 10/2017 by R‐Biopharm

In the US and Canada, so far most of the questions come  from Iso accredited labs that have the test in their scope,  AND are either preparing or have had an audit under the  new Iso 17025‐2017. In two cases, the customers scope  used the exact description of the test in the scope and  method validation. We helped one customer who re‐did  method validation and passed audit. Here at Trilogy, after  Final Action, we changed ours to reflect matrix validation  procedures for other matrices. – R‐Biopharm, Inc.
