MSA Club News groomed trail only adds about 5 miles to getting to the ITS. As in previous newsletters I will close with my pitch to all members to come to our meet- ings. They are on the second Tues- day of the month at the Town Hall at 7:00PM and we can use more input from the membership. Oh yes by the way, Thanks for thinking snow like I requested last month just keep it up for a little longer. Stay safe, ride right, and enjoy the trails. Hal Garnett, Secretary Rome Ruff Riders SKOWHEGAN SNO-HAWKS Skowhegan, ME skowhegansnowmobileclub.com Find us on Facebook Hello everyone. Hope everyone is doing well. It’s been a while since we have been in the Snowmobiler. So let me up date you. Our first meeting was September 14th with 4 officers and 10 members in attendance. Secretary- Barbara Whittemore In town trailmaster- Dom Rinaldi Southside trailmaster- Paul McCarty We worked on the trails every Sun- day starting the 2nd Sunday of Sep- tember, with the help of many club members. We trimmed trails, cleaned up blow downs, rebuilt 3 bridges and repaired one. We also serviced the Tuckers and drags, and of course posted and signed the trails. A big THANKYOU goes out to all the vol- unteers for getting our trails ready to ride. We moved our trail that leads to ITS 87. Now off of 46 from Canaan, East West trail, crossing East Madison Rd then cross end of the driveway and please stay on marked trail. We have riders going off trail and cutting across by the nursing home to Ken’s Restau- rant. This opening is NOT a trail. It has been posted and roped off. Failure to stay on marked trail will result in loss of access to ITS 87. WE HAVE BEEN WARNED! Always respect the landowners as without them and their permission to cross their land there would be no trails. Please read the signs on all trails. Stay on marked trails. Our club meetings are normally held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month September thru April at the club house on Rt2, Canaan Rd, Skow- hegan starting at 6:30 PM. Come join us. We will be social distancing at club meetings and hand sanitizer and This seasons officers are: President- George Wacome Vice-President- Phil Wacome Treasurer- Dee Wilson

masks will be available. As always check out our Facebook and website for updates. Stay safe and healthy. Enjoy the trails, Thanks for reading Respectfully Skowhegan Sno-Hawks COCHNEWAGAN TRAILBLAZERS Monmouth, ME It finally looks like winter! Storms have been relatively small but there have been several over the past 2-3 weeks with more in the forecast. This snowmobile season is looking a lot like last year’s. I remember we didn’t get any local riding in until the middle of February. It made for a short sea- son so hopefully the snow will stick around a little longer this season. We haven’t had any official local rides yet but hope to in the near future. At this point the trails are quite boney but with the upcoming snow we should be in good shape. Be safe out there riding. Our snowball raffle is well under- way. A big thank you to everyone that sold tickets and to those that bought them. Happy riding, Roberta Kemp, V.P. Hi! Not much to report. We finally got some snow --- rain and sleet! Trails are good, river crossing is in place and the groomers are out. We had a club ride to Athens and had lunch at Landlubbers. Good food and a good ride. We stopped at the wind towers on the ride back and had some great views! I am sorry to report that we will be losing our secretary. Polly Viles has been doing this job for 20 plus years. She decided it was time to pass the baton to a younger member. Polly and Early have been active members for many years; Earl has put in many hours in the groomer. We will miss you and a big “THANK YOU”. Since all of our fund raisers had to be canceled in 2020 and so far in 2021, we decided to have a trail side cook-out. We had great support from the snowmobilers that came by and a fun day was had by all! We still have a litter winter left and the weatherman is saying warmer weather next week but I’m still hold- ing out for more snow! Don’t forget to respect our landowners and ride right and stay on marked trails. ANASC ANSON-NORTH ANSON sc Anson-North Anson, ME

(Continued from Page 23) I can’t believe that it is already the middle of March! The riding season was a short one this year - Just not enough snow! Well, looking at it positively again, we have been able to work on the new and improved club house. As of the last reporting, we have com- pleted our kitchen and are looking to acquire a new refrigerator/ freezer. So keep your eyes open for any GOOD DEALS! For those of you who are trying to stretch out the riding season and get in a few more rides, you can BECOME A MEMBER OF OUR CLUB - the “Lexington Highlanders Snowmobile Club” and have a spot to park your truck and trailers, so you can get those last rides in! :) Park & Ride for FREE !!!! We wel- come ALL new members! We’d like to put in a special thanks to our extended club family over in Pleasant Ridge & Concord for all of their hard work, grooming and main- taining our trails on the other side. Here’s to them! Now put on your dancing shoes and do the dance! SNOW! SNOW! SNOW! Let’s see if we can extend our riding season. This newsletter will appear in the March MSA paper so hopefully every- one has had a reasonable season rid- ing the trails. The Readfield Blizzard Busters have been fortunate to receive some of the precious snow that fell in central Maine. The dedicated club members have made every effort to keep trails groomed and ready for rid- ing. The bad news is that as I write this we are currently receiving sleet and freezing rain. Fortunately, conditions up North and in the higher elevations have been good. We hope everyone took the opportunity to load the trailers and find that “white Gold.” Although the snow cover in central Maine nor- mally is thin in late March the trails up north should still offer lots of great rid- ing. So, get out there and ride. Also, it’s never too late to join a snowmobile club. Without the clubs there would be no trails. Period. Remember to stay safe, ride right and think snow! So, let it snow and join a club. Marge and Lee Livingston Club Reporters Ride and stay safe. See you at the club. NIGHT DRIFTERS sc Detroit, ME Email: nightdriftersclub@gmail.com Facebook: NightDrifters/1973 The groomer has been out, thanks to your snow dances! All our trails are now open and are ready to be ridden. The biggest Thank You goes out to our dedicated volunteers. You have really pulled this all together in a truly short time to make this happen. There is always work/upkeep to be done. If you have some spare time to volun- teer, it is always appreciated. We had seven members take the Groomer Operators test. They all received their certifications. Congratulations guys! The clubhouse floor has been stripped and waxed. Something that was much needed. It looks great now! Hopefully, we can hold dances, din- ners, and bingo soon so everyone can enjoy it. Shout out to Live Maine Team at RE/MAX INFINITY. They held an online competition through their Facebook page to help support our clubs. We received a lot of support and votes. We placed second! Thank you to all that participated and Congratu- lations to Rangeley and Piscataquis. We meet every first and third Mon- day, 6PM at the clubhouse. We can be reached through Facebook - Night- Drifters/1973, email - nightdrifter- sclub@gmail.com, or call myself @ 341-0981. I hope you have been able to get out and do some riding. Jenn Basford – Secretary Hello all, has it been cold enough for you? It sure has been great for the trails. We are getting people yelling GOOD JOB, GREAT TRAILS and notes to the club with donations and even some people giving donations on the trail. It looks like all of the work that has gone into the trails is paying off. We are also getting new mem- bers. I don’t know what March will bring but we have a good base and it should last quite a while unless we get real high temps. We have started to prepare for the replacement of some of our older sleds with something a little newer. It might be something with tracks. The East side trails are being groomed with personal 4x4s and if everything turns out good this year, we may be looking to groom with something on tracks. Our new trail that connects to Vienna’s trail is getting a lot of use and we will make a new connection to ITS 87 next year. Until then using Vienna’s well- ROME RUFF RIDERS Belgrade Lakes, ME

Hello, Well it’s the third week of Feb- ruary and we finally got some snow so we could groom. Our Trail Mas- ter Billy has been out almost daily if not grooming he is still doing some signage or brushing, Last week four

members were out on Connector trail 115 brushing. You would think after four months our entire system would be clear but as you all know it’s a constant issue. We have experienced some breakdowns with one of our Scandic’s which required a complete upper end rebuild. These sleds have been workhorses for us over the years and at our last club meeting it was decided that we will procure one new Scandic for next year. I would like to Thank our groomer operators for the magic they have performed out on the trails so far with the lack of snow, Bill, John, Eben and our “rookie” Ben. We do plan on a club ride some- time in the near future and will post it on FB. Let’s hope March will bring us some good snows. In March at our
