amount of hours and work Paul has put in is incredible. Once again, we are fortunate to have folks like Paul jump in with both feet and do a much- needed job. THANK YOU PAUL. ---In the MSA paper and many times on their Facebook page, I see pictures of Coburn Mountain. Yes, it’s a spec- tacular place and view BUT it doesn’t hold a candle to what we have here in Dixfield!! If you have never been to the top of Cornel Holman Moun- tain, you are missing one of the BEST views in Maine. It’s a 360 view and the White Mountains are right in front of you. If you live near this awesome view and do not see it, you’re really missing something. Peter Holman from Dixfield owns that mountain and he very graciously lets us have a trail to the top! THANK YOU PETE!!! I have a “few” stories about sledding with Pete in the County!! Some good, some not so good!! I think he was broke down as much as he rode that one trip!! That is one thing we never know, whose sled is going to break down!! They are ALL good when they are running and ALL bad when they don’t!! And it happens to EVERY kind of sled!! I think that is all for now. The snow is awesome so get out as much as UI can, it won’t last forever!! STAY RIGHT AND STAY SAFE!! Club reported, J H Hi there..... Remember when we used to go ice skating on Thanksgiving Day and snowmobile right after? Well, that didn’t happen this past fall...but noth- ing we “generally” do happened either. So now that we have recently got some beautiful snow....and our trails are like driving through a winter wonder- land.... we can finally say YES! Our trail guys and gals have been working so hard and we want to thank them for all their work.... (not even knowing if we would be able to ride the trails this winter). HUGE THANK YOU! We had our club meeting this week at the rec hall and discussed some areas that may need additional work. Our Sunshine Girl, Beverly brought “warm from the oven” delicious brownies” for all of us to share. Thank you Beverly. Our monthly meetings are generally held at 7 PM on the second Monday at the rec hall on High Street in Oxford. But, because of some conflicting meet- ings... that day may be different. So PLEASE check Rock-O-Dundee Face- book Page for alternate date. Meanwhile, Ride Safe. Respect ROCK-O-DUNDEE Oxford, ME

much easier and afford the MSA a little more money to fight for your rights in Augusta. Ride Right, Ride Safe Doug Doherty, President WALDOBORO SNO CRAWLERS Waldoboro, ME Hello Sno Crawlers, We have had yet another year of contin- uous hard work from our volunteers, main- taining the trails the best we can, with little to no snow. As the end of February nears, we have groomed most all trails once or twice and have been able to get out a few times to enjoy them. We continue to put many hours in to maintain the trails and maintain relationships with landowners and businesses.

as it’s been really cold and the groomers are getting some good use. We have had one of our new members step up to help out with the grooming and the trails. have been really decent most of the winter. The local ATV club has also been spreading the word not to ride in the winter unless a machine has tracks and is registered as a snowmobile. We have finished a detour around a new solar farm that was put in to complete trail access to our club house again and the company doing the install was great to work with. We have some new maps being printed this year without sponsors for just this year as it’s been a tough one for everyone. We are having these done at the Sanford High School and Regional Vocational Center as well as some new logos being made up to jazz up our printing a bit and to give the kids some real-world projects to work on. Several members have made the trek up North to enjoy the great rid- ing Northern Maine has to offer. Hope everyone gets out and enjoys that last bit of spring riding and has a safe and happy summer. We will see every- one again in the Fall! Steve Givens, Board of Directors March already!?? We have had lit- tle snow in Windham again this winter but as of beginning of February, there’s finally enough to open the trails and start some grooming. Let’s hope we can get some decent snow to end out the season. WINDHAM DRIFTERS sc Windham, ME

(Continued from Page 25) divorce him because of all the time he is spending on US, members of the MSA. Can’t thank him enough!! A few other “thank you’s” are needed. Bon- nie Child for making sure I was warm AND bringing hot Cranberry muffins to the work crew. And cookies to sell!! MUCH APPRECIATED!! Elliott Knox for donating back the $130.00 he won!! David, Don, and Rene for the fantastic food. (Darn, Marlene and I were too busy to get any) The Mexico club for the tables and making sure the Groomer building was clean (and warm) for the Blessing. Marlene for being at the table helping to sell the shirts and 50/50. The Mexico Club for clearly mark- ing the trail to the Blessing, Nicky for running the Poker Run, and Chris for all his “running around” for things we forgot!! All in all, a GREAT two club effort with a small profit. We couldn’t have made ANY money if it wasn’t for the AWESOME donations we received form MANY sledders. Lots of $5.00, $10.00 and even a few 20.00’s. But TODD Wardwell out did himself with a $200.00 donation!!! WOW, what a HUGE help. Trisha at Mills Market and Big Dan at Dan’s Auto and Sales gave a $100.00 donation!! Without these nice donations, we would have gone in the “hole” this year!! We didn’t plan on making any money this year, we only wanted to give back, but THANKS to the many donations we will make a slight profit!!! In a “normal” year, the Blessing is our biggest fund raiser, so breaking almost even was terrific!! AGAIN THANK YOU EVERTYONE I am SURE I left someone out and IF I did, it was NOT intentional!!!! Now for Poodunck news. David tells me our trails have NEVER BEEN BETTER!!! And I believe that all the trails in our area are “almost” as good as ours!! Thanks to the boys that have stepped up to help David. On a sad note, our GREAT GROOMER Bob is having health problems. Bob has been our “GO TO GUY” for so many years. He does the grooming and helps us a ton with his tractor. I know it’s very hard on him NOT to be out there EVERY day, but we hope in the future he will be back to himself and working on the trails whenever he can. David sure misses his “main” groomer operator!! Get well Bob ASAP please!!! I say this often; most riders have NO idea of what it takes to make the trails wide and smooth!! And if you ever see a groomer operator, PLEASE give them a “thumbs-up”. Another member who has done a ton of dragging with our small sled is Paul Holmquist. The

Hello from Saco, Hello from Sunny Saco, Maine. We finally got a little snow to work with. It’s not much, but the temps have stayed below freezing and our groom- ing team is doing a great job with what little they have to work with. However, by the time you are reading this (mid-March) we’ll most likely be into mud season here in the southern part of the state. The good news is most of our mem- bers have trailers and we aren’t afraid to make trips up north. We have a club trip planned up to Caribou for the end of February, then another club trip planned to Moro Plantation (Katahdin Lodge) for early March. If you follow any snowmobile forums on Facebook, you know that riders from all over the country were heading to Maine once we got a little snow. We won’t see those riders in our area as most of the trails in southern Maine are really suited for the local rider. But, if you made any trip north, you surely saw a huge number of riders. With the huge number of riders also come trails that get tired at the end of the day. The key to riding heavily travelled trails is to get out early. One issue that has bothered every club member in the state is when we see four wheelers, dirt bikes, and/ or passenger vehicles on the trails. It drives us nuts when we see this and the damage they do to our trails. I agree that much of this is deliberate and the drivers intentionally break the law. I also think that some of it is just someone looking to get out and ride the trails not knowing it is illegal to do so. If you encounter someone on the trail that doesn’t belong there, try to educate them without being confron- tational. I think most will understand and will leave the trail. Of course, there is the chance that they become belligerent. At that point it’s probably best to walk away and make a call to the local Game Warden. Lastly, if you have friends that DON’T belong to a club, try to encourage them to join one. Snow- mobile clubs are the heartbeat of the industry in this state (you already knew that). If each club could pick up another volunteer or two, it would just make the seasonal trail work that

I think it’s important to shout out to the backbone of our club, who, with no snow in the forecast, continued to show up and help keep our trails safe. Thank you: Dwayne, Doria, John John, Eric, Jimi, Carl, Rick, Stephanie, Timmy, and David (The Stormy Rider Club). It’s been a crazy year for the whole world, yet getting out in the woods for some fresh air is doing some good for us all. We have also been working with the local EMA, fire, and police departments. Many of our trials are used for skiing, hik- ing, and winter mountain bikers. If some- one were ever to be injured on our trail sys- tem, we want to assist in any way possible. I would also like to thank our fearless leader Tony Lash (and family). While those snowbirds have been keeping warm in the sunny south, Tony and his family have allowed us to use the clubhouse for meetings and store our club equipment. While Tony’s snow dances on the beaches of Florida may not have paid off this win- ter, we appreciate all he does for us. We, the Sno Crawlers, wish to thank all members, supporting businesses and land- owners. Without their support, there would be many people who could not enjoy the beautiful wintery mid-coast. Waldoboro Sno Crawlers Treasurer, Ben Scott SOUTHERN MAINE SNO-GOERS Sanford, ME Lots of exciting news here in South- ern Maine. We are enjoying the longest riding season we have had in a few years

The club would like to recognize a great accomplishment which occurred this past year. Club member, Matt Miller, managed the rebuild of one of our clubs Bombardier Bombi groom- ing machines. The machine is known as B2, a 1979 4-cylinder, gas power, tracked machine. The machine was mostly disassembled, cleaned, sand- blasted, repainted and powder coated, rewired, new mirrors, seats, lights and new graphics installed! The club is very appreciative for all the volun- teered hours of labor and would like to recognize Portland Industrial Coatings who donated their services to sand-
