Chris Loucks Asst. D ir. of Media Relations Chris Loucks is in his fifrh year as Asst. Dir. of Media Relations. Kara Smith is in her second year in rhe position of Assistant D irector of Athletics for Development. She oversees rhe annual athletic giving campaign and organizes al.I rhe arh– letic fundraising events and booster clubs for rhe department. Prior to USD, Kara was rhe As– sistant Director of Alumni Relations
ate assistant at Gonzaga University where he served as rhe primary media contact for women's soccer, baseball, and men's and women's tennis. He also served as a Media Relations Assistant at UC Riverside from 2002- 2004 serving as rhe Highlanders' primary media contact for men's soccer and softball. Loucks also worked in the Sports Information offices at Cal State Fullerton and Saddleback College. In 2002, Loucks received his B.A. in Communications with an em– phasis in public relations from Cal State Fullerton. He is currently work– ing on his master's in sport and athletic administration from Gonzaga. Ryan McCann Media Relations Coordinator Ryan McCann is in his fifrh year as rhe media relations coordinator. His duties include radio and TV liaison, producing media guides, press re– leases, brochures and game programs for numerous Torero sports. McCann also updates and maintains the arhletic website for rhe sports that he is re– sponsible for. Prior to SD, McCann spent one year in South Korea teaching English to elementary and middle school students and was a SID student assistant at Linfield College. In 2004, McCann received his B.A. in Mass Communications from Linfield College.

Prior to DePaul University, Kara worked for rhe Chi– cago Bears Footbal.l Club for four seasons and started its Alumni De– partment where she planned events and appearances for former players as weU as planned and managed training camp operations. From Chicago, Illinois, Kara received her BBA and MA in Sports Management from Western Michigan University where she earned a full athletic scholarship for gymnastics. She is a White Sox fan . Her two sisters, Kelly and Kristen, have their master's degrees from USD.
Angie Garza Mgr. of Athletic Equipment Services Angie Garza started at USD in July 2009. Her responsibilities include the purchasing, maintenance, fitting, or– ganization and distribution of equip– ment for al.I seventeen varsity sports at USD. Prior to USD, Angie worked at San Diego State niversity as an Assistant Manager of equipment services from 2004-2009. She helped
supervise a staff of 3 full-time assistants and 12 student managers in rhe daily operations of an Arhletic Equipment Services Department rhat serviced eighteen varsity sports. Angie has a Bachelor of Science degree from San Diego State University in Child Development wirh an emphasis in Family Development. She is a certified member of the Athletic Equipment Manager's Associations. Angie and her husband Ricky, reside in San D iego.
Matthew Parr Athletic Facilities & Operations
Sarabeth Pollock Coor. of Athletic Academic Support Sarabeth Pollock begins her fifth year as rhe Coordinator of Athletic Academic Support for USD. She has worked as a tutor in the Athletic De– partment since rhe fall of 2001. She serves as the academic advisor for al.I sports except FootbaU and Rowing. Her responsibilities include the su– pervision of rhe Study Hal.I and the

student under Andy Fee and John Martin for four years and was also a member of rhe USD cross country team and served on rhe USD Student– Athlete Advisory Council. Matrhew is a 2007 graduate of USD where he earned his B.A. in His– tory and Political Science. Parr resides in El Cajon, Calif.
administration of the tutoring and mentoring programs. Currently, the Academic Support Program employs over 25 tutors who represent a variety of majors across campus, as well as over 12 mentors who are graduate students pursuing their masters degrees in USD's Counseling Program. Sarabeth graduated from USD in 2002 in the Honors Program, earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History. She speaks Spanish and French Auently. A Srh generation San Diegan, she resides in Point Loma with her family. In her spare time, Saraberh enjoys working on her novel rhat she hopes to have published eventu– ally.
