Tyre cord acquisition Bekaert, producer and supplier of drawn wire products and advanced coatings, announced in February the acquisition of two Bridgestone tyre cord plants and a multi-year supply agreement. The integration of the plants is planned to strengthen Bekaert’s position in the tyre cord market, while the long-term supply agreement further enhances Bekaert’s status as an important external supplier of tyre cord to Bridgestone.
