WOOD DOORS — NON FERROUS APPLICATIONS: Mount in desired location and orientation using #6 pan-head screws with a minimum recommended length of 1/2 inch. To ensure the highest security, keep the gap as small as practical. A 1/32” gap is recommended but the switch will operate at a maximum 1/8” gap. The flexible cable may exit the switch from either the left of the right side by removing the two #4 flathead machine screws located on the base of the switch and flipping the switch 180°. Refasten the screws but DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE SCREWS. After the switch and magnet have been mounted, remove the SWITCH BASE and temporarily mount the TAMPER INSERT, using the same #6 screws, in the same location that was used to mount the SWITCH BASE. Permanently mount the TAMPER INSERT using a third #6 screw in the location shown in the drawing. Remove the SWITCH BASE mounting screws and re-install the switch base over the TAMPER INSERT. The tamper circuit will alarm before the switch can be removed. STEEL DOOR AND FERROUS SURFACE APPLICATIONS : When mounting the switch and magnet on ferrous surfaces such as steel doors and safes, follow the above installation instructions, but you must also install the enclosed 1/4” thick spaces under the switch and magnet to achieve a 1/8” operate gap. Use #6 screws (stainless steel recommended) with a minimum recommended length of 1-1/2”. Use Spacer Kit (part number: N707AUSPKIT) for installation on offset surfaces to achieve correct alignment. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS This level 2 BMS is to be connected / used with UL Listed Burglar Panels / Systems, Switch and Magnet must be aligned for corrrect operation!

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS The switch can be mounted on the floor at the base of the door or on the wall at the top of the door. For best performance, align the switch and magnet housings and keep the gap distance between the switch and magnet as close as possible. FLOOR MOUNT: • With the overhead door closed, position the magnet on the lower right or left side of the door, then align the switch under the magnet. Adjust the position of the switch and magnet to ensure there is adequate clearance between the housings (1/4” minimum). • Make sure the stainless steel armored cable will not interfere with the door operation. • Mark the mounting hole locations for the switch and magnet. • Drill the marked locations on the door using a high speed drill adequately sized for self-tapping screws or machine screws. • Mount the magnet on the door. • Raise the door and drill the switch mounting hole locations using a masonry bit for concrete floors, sized to fit expansion anchors for #6 self-tapping screws. • Secure the switch to the floor. • Test the switch by attaching an ohm meter to the switch leads and operate the door. • Connect the leads to the alarm system conductors.

N505AUTM 2 1/4” TRACK MOUNT FLIP SWITCH WITH UNIVERSAL MAGNET

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS The N505AU Universal Track Mount switch and magnet system can be installed on either the right or left side of the overhead door. To change the direction of the direction of the armored cable, remove the 2 screws attaching the switch to the bracket and flip the switch. Insert and re-tighten the screws. Depending on the type of Roller Guide Track your door has, or operating condition of the door, it may be necessary to remove the rear half of the switch bracket to complete installation. • Un-pack the switch and magnet assemblies and set aside the magnet bracket assembly. • Slide the two halves of the switch bracket assembly apart so they are fully extended against the clamping screw. • Position the switch bracket assembly on the guide roller track in the desired location. Make sure the rear half of the bracket assembly is fully extended around the track. • Slide the bracket halves together on the track and hold the switch assembly in position. Carefully open and close the door to make sure the door will operate freely without contacting the switch or bracket assembly. ( If there is interference between the lower guide roller bracket plate and the switch bracket assembly, use the alternate mounting method below.) • Secure the switch and bracket assembly to the track by tightening the clamping screw on the side of the bracket. • With the door closed, align the magnet bracket assembly with the switch. Make sure there is sufficient clearance between the magnet and switch so the door can open and close freely. • Attach the magnet to the door using #6 self-tapping screws. • Connect an ohm meter to the switch leads and open and close the door to test switch for correct operation. • Connect the switch leads to the alarm system. Alternate Mounting Method: Use the alternate mounting method if your Roller guide track has a web that will not allow the the rear half of the switch bracket to wrap around the back of the roller guid track. Or if there is interference between the switch and bracket assembly and the lower guide roller bracket plate. • Remove the rear half of the mounting bracket by removing the clamping screw completely and separating the two halves of the bracket set. • Position the front half of the bracket with the switch on the rail in the desired location. Using the mounting holes in the side of the bracket as your guide, drill through the rail using a 3/16 drill in two locations. • To mount the bracket, use two pan head machine screws. ( Note : The screw heads must be on the inside of the rail to allow the door guide roller to pass ). From the inside of the rail, insert the screws through the holes in the rail and through the mounting holes in the side of the bracket. Place a washer over the screw and use a nylock type lock nut to secure the bracket to the rail. If nylock type nuts are not available use thread locking compound on the mounting screw threads. This will prevent the mounting screws from loosening due to vibration from the door opening and closing. • Open and close the door to make sure the door will operate freely without contacting the switch or mounting bracket. • With the door closed, re-align the magnet actuator with the switch. Make sure there is sufficient clearance between the magnet and switch so the door can open and close freely. • Connect an ohm meter to the switch leads and open and close the door to test the switch for correct operation. • Connect the switch leads to the alarm system.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS • Lower the door to closed position. Make sure there are no obstructions to prevent complete closure of door. • Position magnet at the desired height on door with the end of magnet housing aligned with inside edge of the door track. Mark the position of magnet. • Clean the area on door where magnet is to be mounted with alcohol. • Remove the liner from the mounting tape on rear surface of magnet. Position the magnet where previously marked and press the magnet onto door. • Align the switch bracket assembly on the track with the magnet on door. The top edge of the magnet should align with the midpoint on the switch housing. Make sure the back of switch housing is seated against the edge of the track. • Using the slots in the bracket as a guide, drill two 5/32” holes in the track as close to the switch as possible. • Position the wear pad on the inside of the track and align the holes in the wear pad with the holes you just drilled. • Insert two #6X 5/8” screws thru the slots in the bracket and thru the holes drilled in track and into the holes in the wear pad. Tighten screws carefully until assembly is snug on the track. Do not over tighten the screws. • Use two #6X3/4” screws to mount the magnet if desired. • Open the door to its fully open position to make sure the magnet will clear the door stop at the top of the door and to make sure the Angle plate at the bottom of the door will clear the switch assembly. It may be necessary to notch the angle plate at the bottom of the door to allow clearance for the door to move freely past the switch assembly. • Connect the switch leads to an ohm meter and open and close the door to test switch for correct operation. • Connect the switch leads to the alarm system.
